Lesson Plan Details and Format

Objective;

 

The goal of this game is to teach students how to successfully promote and manage a music group.  I want to show people who are interested in being singers the rigorous hard work it takes to be a successful entertainer.

 

The pace is determined on how quickly you can create a successful music group.

You will auditions singers, choose them and pick the venues the preform at, after this is done you will decided on what ‘s best for their in terms of recording and producing.

 

The style and format will be similar to Farmville, you will each day create opportunities for your artist to get discovered. You must log in and keep up with what’s going in your artist life just as a promoter would do.  Follow and guide them to a successful career.

 

Learners will be getting the rules and instructions to playing the game.  These rules will be the guidelines to what can and cannot be done throughout the experience. You will connect with other online people and book performance gigs.

 

The biggest manipulation will be getting the artist discovered and signed to a recording contract.  You must be able to decide what will be the best deal for your artist.

 

When entering the game the best knowledge I can provide for any gamer would be use common sense.  Try to figure out what’s the best situation for your artist and how you will achieve his/her success.  I like this idea because it homes in on critical thinking and problem solving skills.

 

The short and long term victories will be to sign and create a multi-million dollar selling artist.   I will present the everyday challenge of promoting, booking, and managing finances of an artist.

 

The background story that brings my learner into my world is the dream of becoming a well-know artist and knowing how to do it.  I feel most people that sing would like to do it for a living.

 

There are no evil characters, but the final outcome will be multiple selling artists in the company.  We will try and build a record label and have as many top selling artists as possible.

 

 

The assessment used in this game is based on money spending.  Each artist will be given a set amount of money; the promoter must help guide them in carefully spending the money allotted for their career.  Figure out how to become successful without spending all out your money given to you by your promoter.  The gamer must carefully select the venues that help the artist and the promoter sign a long-term contract.

 

Timing will be based on how long it takes for the gamer to make the right moves to become successful. It’ could be up until 3 to 6 months to do what you need to do.

 

 

The fun of this game centers on getting as many artist to become successful in your record company as possible.  This game gives the learner a chance to look inside of the music industry and see how an artist gets developed.  Another important aspect that interesting is the challenge of building and promoting your artist in public.  I love the idea of creating new and raw talent.  The motivation theory being addressed would be problem solving.
